This is the Azimuth version for trimix diving (A.F. "Alto Fondale", means "Deep Diving", into italian). Deep Diving requires low FO2 in the bottom mix, this in a SCCR-CMF lead to high flows setting, if we want to breath the bottom mix at surface, but if is present a tank with a deco mix,we can set the bottom flow at a lower rate, just to be normoxic at gas switch depth, and then set the deco mix into the doser. So doing, we can enjoy again the gas efficence advantages of SCR. In accordance with this theory, Azimuth A.F. pneumatic is split into two separate ones, with two tanks and two doser groups: one for bottom mix and the other for deco mix. Each flow can be open by rotating the same kind of lever that in Azimuth A.F. opens the bailout tank. Two different Bailout regulators and pressure gauges are present too. Gas thermal advantage of rebreathers is now more important, as we are breathing a mix with some Helium percentage.

As the gas consumption are anyway greater in this kind of diving, Azimuth A.F. fits two x 10lt /200 bar tanks (70,6 cf each) Because of the greater sideward size of tanks, the valves are protected by a metal frame. This apparatus enact the beginning of a new frontier in Tech Diving: also if many SCR has been Custom modified for Trimix diving, Azimuth A.F. is the first to be designed certified and sold for this purpose. Moreover the advantage of Azimuth's "continous setting" doser allows a better flexibility in the choice of the more appropriate mix.
